A pickpocket thief understands that the brain can only focus on one thing at a time. So with that in mind, he approaches His victim, and does a few things …
- He gets within close proximity of the victim
- He speaks very fast
- He uses a lot of hand movements
The victim now goes into attention overload, opening himself up to becoming easy access to steal from. So the pickpocket thief takes his wallet, watch, and phone, unbeknownst to the victim. Why? The victim was distracted with all the commotion that was taking place right in front of him. Pickpocket thief’s use the art of distractions to steal.
I feel like God is saying to us to not get distracted with all the death you’re hearing about, or everyone who is contracting the virus (Not belittling any of the things, as they are all serious and important). Do not get distracted with media posts blasting political parties, or divisive media posts blasting the president, or other countries.
When you focus on these things, it shifts your eyes away from the things that are above , and down to things below on earth (Colossians 3:2), causing one to become distracted. When distracted, the enemy has access to come in to steal your joy, peace, sleep, finances (panic spending) , time with your family (consumed by the media and news) and your time with God.
- Instead continue to focus on a relationship with Jesus, the Lord our God.
- Continue to Focus on your marriage, and family drawing closer to each other.
- Continue to Focus on giving to your local church and traveling ministers you support.
- Continue to focus on answers, and not problems.
- Continue to focus on the dreams and visions that God has given you.
- Continue to focus on Prayer, fasting, worship and the word towards this world we are living in.
Don’t get distracted, lest the enemy steals from you during this time, and you are left with nothing when you come out of the quareteen.
Matthew 26:41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
