Matt was born and raised in Duncanville, Texas. After graduating from Lighthouse Christian Academy in 2003, he attended Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU), where he played basketball and received his B.S. in Education in 2008. Matt then took a teaching position at Waxahachie Preparatory Academy (WPA) while also assisting with the men’s basketball team and directing intramurals for SAGU (2008-2009). In 2009, he married the love of his life, Kelani Daniels, and have been married for 11 years. God has blessed them with three daughters (Elizabeth, Anna, and Eden) and one son (Nathanael). Lastly, he served as an Assistant Principal for Newman International Academy, a public charter school, from 2011-2016.
In the arena of church ministry, he led worship for 14 years at House of Prayer Assemblies of God in Dallas, TX, where his father, Collis Daniels, is currently the pastor. In 2017, after serving many years under his father, he received his blessing to transition to Fuego Church. Both his wife and him serve as the Elders over the prayer and worship ministry. They also have spent a lot of time in the past two years traveling and ministering. Matt has had the privilege of ushering people into the presence of God through praise and worship, as well as preaching and teaching the Word of God. God has also used him to edify the church through the prophetic and minister in the gift of healing.
Matt continues to travel and minister at various churches, conferences, and other ministry gatherings for children, youth, young adults, and adults. Matt has seen many people commit to following Christ, reconciled, and healed; He and his wife have seen marriages restored and people set free from demonic influences.
Matt’s heart’s desire is to see the children of God walk in close relationship with Him, grow in His love, and pursue full obedience to His will. Through his ministry he wants to connect people, using the gifts and talents that God has given him, to the only One who can transform them.
In the midst of all of this ministry, he has learned that the most important practice of all is to prioritize an intimate relationship with God first, family second, and then to others.
