Need a vacations 5

Normally when people are stressed, anxious, and burned out, they plan a “get away”, or a vacation.

They take a lot of time to research a nice location away from their normal environment, usually a place that is conducive for peace, rest, and quiet. They are willing to pay a good amount of money, for airline tickets, hotel, rental car and money set aside for food. Some pick places where they can go to the ocean, some pick the mountains, and others may enjoy a quiet time in the woods.

After a few days of this, they come back recharged, energized, and their mind slowed down from all the craziness of the fast-pace life. They say to themselves, I’ll have to save money and do this again next year.

What if your quiet time with God produced the same results as a vacation? Or what if a vacation is an example of what happens when you get away with God. You could literally have a vacation everyday before or after work. This vacation is completely free, no spending money, wasting time researching for tickets, hotels, or car rentals. You can literally go right in your closet, bathroom, bedroom, or even your car. It should take you 30 seconds to get to your vacation spot.

“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed.” (Mark 1:35) Jesus took the time to “Get away” (His vacation) after doing the fast pace life of ministering, serving, casting out demons, and healing the sick. He needed to be alone with the Father, to recalibrate, refocus, and regain His strength.

When you are feeling oppressed, anxious, tired, stressed, and overwhelmed, get away with God, sit quietly before Him, and let Him refill you in His magnificent presence.

For in thy presence is fullness of Joy, and at thy right hand are pleasures forever more.
